The St. Albans Raid -- America's First Bank Robbery!

The St. Albans Raid -- America's First Bank Robbery!
Come to our Round Table meeting on February 18th, and hear the amazing tale of how Confederate Soldiers rode down from Canada on October 19, 1864. They took over a town in Vermont, robbed three banks, exchanged gunfire with townspeople, resulting in one fatality, and attempted to burn down the town. They escaped with a quarter of a million dollars in cash and were subsequently put on trial for their lives. You do not want to miss this exciting presentation, featuring period illustrations, as told by our own Douglas Miller, LA resident, documentary filmmaker, and author of "The Greatest Escape: A True American Civil War Adventure" (Lyons Press).
