A 2020 Vision of Robert E. Lee
Since the war’s end, the image of Robert E. Lee has been the cornerstone of the Neo-Confederate movement. But to what extent has the movement reflect Lee’s true values and viewpoints? Our speaker, Todd Kislak, will explore key aspects of Lee’s worldview and how it has been applied, and misapplied, by those committed to perpetuating the ethos of the Lost Cause. He will also look at how the Confederate culture has impacted the South through its post-war history, and in what ways that culture connects both to the real and the imagined image of Robert E. Lee. You will not want to miss this very informative, and timely, presentation.
